Cuando empezamos a diseñar nuestras velas lo primero que tenemos que elegir es el recipiente. En base a eso, luego de hacerle las pruebas para saber que es apto y resistente tomamos decisiones acerca del pabilo. Que grosor va a tener y cuántos de ellos vamos a colocarle a la vela.
El error más común es suponer que para hacer nuestras velas el tamaño del pabilo hay que cortarlo del mismo tamaño que el recipiente. O peor aún, del largo final que queremos el pabilo. Porfa no hagan esto!! 🙈
Entonces, ¿Cómo tenemos que calcular el pabilo para sacar nuestros costos y para armarlos con los ojalillos?
👉 Siempre tenemos que contar cómo mínimo 2cm más que el alto total de recipiente. Así podemos colocar en un extremo el ojalillo y luego de pegarlo a la base queda más largo que la boca del recipiente.
👉 ¿Para que? Cuando colocamos la cera es muy importante que el pabilo quedé recto en el lugar que queremos. Ya sea en el centro si es uno solo o a la misma distancia entre si, si son varios y respetando con cuidado la distancia del vidrio.
Para poder lograr esto es necesario sostener nuestros pabilos a un palito de madera, o sostenerlo entre dos cinta Scotch o también mi super tip que siempre les digo, entre dos palitos de 🍣.
💰 Lo mismo aplica a la hora de sacar los costos ¡No calcules solo el largo del pabilo cuando la vela está terminada! Sino vas a perder plata 🙊. Empezá a calcular el costo con el “desperdicio” de la técnica.
